Hi everyone! Here's your weekly dose of the latest updates from OSSIC headquarters.
OSSIC X DEVELOPMENT
OSSIC X VR TESTING
Above is a photo of the latest OSSIC X prototype with several VR HMD's. There has been a lot of internal testing with the prototype among VR ecosystems, games, etc and things are progressing quite nicely. It's important to note that many of the hardware features of the prototype are not utilizing the final materials, the headband included. The ergonomics of the headphone are also being improved, although we're happy that the top headpad provides more than enough comfort while wearing an HMD.
NEXT PROTOTYPE BUILD RAMPING UP
We're still implementing our updated designs and feedback into the next prototype build, which is scheduled to begin production this month. At this stage, 3D printed parts are still very useful to ensure quick iteration before larger investment is made in the final prototype assembly. Some of our team members have already left for our manufacturer and will remain there until the next version is shipped. More updates to come.
OSSIC CTO ON THE FUTURE OF VR HARDWARE
For those of you luckily enough to be attending VRLA this week, be sure to stop by the "Future of VR Hardware" panel discussion on Saturday at 2:30, presented by HP. Our CTO, Joy, will be among several industry leaders discussing what VR means for peripherals and hardware development.
ARE YOU A CREATOR?
Are you making cool stuff with audio? We want to know. Find out more here.
Thats it for now. Thanks and enjoy the weekend!
