Here’s the latest from OSSIC HQ:
OSSIC X Development Progress
The development team has been hard at work and continues to make progress with the OSSIC X. Here are some of the technical updates from the past two weeks:
- Integrated the latest USB audio drivers to our control application, enabling the system to function successfully on the Windows platform.
- Continuing the development of microphone beam-forming algorithms for voice communication. These algorithms will focus the mics on a user's voice to enhance voice clarity.
- Improved the battery charging configuration through precise tuning of the battery charge and discharge cycles while connected to our battery measurement system.
- In progress with testing several head tracker configuration settings.
Mic Array Clarification:
The OSSIC X will be shipping with a sophisticated mic array that will enable clear voice communication without the need for a traditional boom mic. The array will utilize beam-forming algorithms to focus the pickup area specifically on the user’s voice, while simultaneously eliminating excess noise and sensitivity to microphone movement as is often the case with conventional booms.
Development Update Page
To keep everyone informed we've also implemented an OSSIC X development status page on the OSSIC website. This page reflects the latest information on development updates and shipping information. Check it out >>

San Diego Comic-Con
Last week was Comic-Con in San Diego and the streets were alive with people, many of which were clad in some pretty amazing costumes. With quite a few of our backers in town for the event, we opened up our office doors on Friday night and partnered with a few companies in the San Diego immersive tech community to co-host a small open house. Companies included SubPac, Jiva, VRTUL, and Gadget Bot. Thanks again to everyone who came by.
As always, feel free to send any questions our feedback via firstname.lastname@example.org, Kickstarter, or Facebook message.
Thanks again for reading,
